The NAZA sub-committee of the Middle School Committee is seeking proposals from community groups who wish to provide appealing and high-quality activities that enhance the academic, social/emotional, and/or physical growth of middle school students in support of these outcomes:
- 1. Enrolled students regularly participate in their Z. program, as indicated by a minimum of 70% average daily attendance recorded for the program.
- 2. Participating students agree/strongly agree that the program is fun, interesting, and challenging, as measured by the Youth Assets Survey.

More2012 Nashville Children’s Health Week ITP - DEADLINE EXTENDED
The Alignment Nashville Children’s Health Executive Oversight Committee is supporting Nashville Public Television (NPT) and the partners in NPT Reports: Children’s Health Crisis in an effort to turn Nashville into America’s healthiest city for children the week of June 24-28, 2012 (dates subject to change). Community organizations are invited to join in raising awareness around the issue and creating action around children’s health that week, which will culminate with the final episode of NPT Reports: Children’s Health Crisis documentary airing on June 28th. More2012 SEL Resource Guide for MNPS School Professionals ITP - DEADLINE EXTENDED
The Alignment Nashville Social and Emotional Learning Committee (formerly Behavioral Health) published the first Social and Emotional Learning/Behavioral Health Resource Guide in the summer of 2011. The SEL Committee is updating and printing a second edition of this Resource Guide for the 2012 Social and Emotional Learning Conference currently scheduled for July 20, 2012. Intersession is an integral part of the new balanced calendar with its primary focus on providing extended and enriched learning experiences. The Alignment Nashville Pathways to Postsecondary Education Committee is supporting the Metro Nashville Public School district’s efforts to create a comprehensive college- and career-preparatory experience for all ninth-grade students through the Freshman Seminar course. Community organizations are invited to participate in this effort by providing developmentally appropriate services for students such as (but not limited to):
• Leadership development
• Mentorship
• Social skill building/behavioral norms in high school
• Time management
• Financial literacy
• College financial aid information
• Career/personality assessments
• Problem-solving skills
• Making good choices/decision-making skills
• Interview skills/resumes and cover letters/job readiness skills
